Everest designed the AVC Intra 100 video decoder for effortless configuration to any DSP architecture. The decoder total functionality is divided into four functional blocks, namely: Input stage, Entropy stage, Decoding stage, Output stage. The decoder design also supports various DMA techniques being used by different DSP processor architectures. The source codes of all functional blocks have been fully optimized in C language. The Huffman tables are implemented in an efficient way to speed up the CAVLC decoding process. Critical modules like CAVLC, setup prediction for luma and chroma components, Inverse DCT transform, have been segregated allowing for straightforward configuration and optimization across several architectures.
